The Thang
Explained the inspiration for the beatdown being based on the movie 4 Christmases and how the writers nailed what its like growing up in a split family with step families involved. If you haven’t seen the movie I highly suggest you watch it, like TONIGHT!
We would visit 4 areas of the AO and haul our presents with us everywhere we went. At the first stop we did 25 curls. At the 2nd we did 25 curls + 50 overhead presses. The 3rd 25 curls + 50 overhead presses + 75 kettlebell swings. At the 4th and final stop we did all of the above + 100 dead lifts. The stops were the main parking lot, the front of the school, the bus lane parking lot and then the end of the Union Hill entrance, running back to the first spot each time for 25 curls in between.
The PAX were also warned at the before starting that at some point in time Little Drummer Boy would come on and we would stop where we were and doing side straddle hops continuously through the song only to stop and do a burpee every time they sang rum-pum-pum-pum. It was all fun and games, gliding effortlessly along (although with frozen fingers due to the cinder blocks) until that song came on. And then it went downhill fast with everyone complaining before even the halfway point of the song.
Sucked it up and finished right on time. And as expected it was almost as bad as it is to have to hit the road and visit 3-4 families all in 1-2 day timeframe around Christmas with kids, dogs and presents in tow. Good times!
Hey, has anybody seen Duggar after that pre-run?
COT
Prayers for Matchstick’s 2.0 Jack, Red Hat’s 2.0 Logan and anyone else ailing mentally and physically out there. Keep everyone safe as they travel for the holidays, that they may arrive at their destinations and return home safe and sound.
