Dory has been leading a 0.0 at the Kodiak. YHC decided to take a Q and plan it around the ability for Dory to modify and remain with the group. Simple plan and 2 pax (Dory and Legionnaire) showed up for the 5:30 Start Ex. Told Dory to meet us in the small parking lot out back while YHC and Legionnaire to the long route.
Warm0rama consisted of the usual suspects. Alright.
Meet me at the end of the parking lot, ok a little further, ok a little further, ok this looks good. Bear crawl to the covered area by the bus lanes. Ok. wow. this was a really long bear crawl.
Over to to the benches where the cool kids hang out. YHC set his highly reliable Timex Ironman watch timer to 45 secs. YHC calls an exercise and starts the timer. OYO AMRAP. Leg, mary, upper was the rotation. Step ups, LBCs, Dips, Squats, American Hammers, Derkins, Lunges, flutters, shoulder taps. After 3 rounds, run the lap around the bus lanes and back. End one set. After about 3 or 4 sets time to move on to the next thing.
Follow YHC to the parking lot. Lung walk while one pax runs out to the light pole and back, next pax run to the next pole and back, etc. YHC called various forms of lunges. Front, back, side to side, etc. Wow this was a lot of lunges, time to cut through the short route. Once back to the main parking lot, mosey around the parking lot back to the flag meeting up with Dory doing Crunchy frogs, no wait Legionnaire just called crunchy frogs for the last 45 seconds of the work out and Miyagi started laughing. He found it funny.
Speaking of Miyagi, he showed up at some point during the work out, either at the end of the warm ups or during the lap back to the flag and acted like he was there the whole time.

THE LDP (LawDog Podcast)
C4 and Cricket are going old school with a summer Quarter Q. The Quarter Q system is how the Kodiak handled the Q signup before the fancy Q sheet came around. The Quarterly Q works by getting 2 pax to pick one day and they handle the Q for that day all quarter. They either Q it or find a Q in their absence. The goal of the quarter q was originally to train up Pax to learn how to lead beatdowns by leading beatdowns often. When you are Qing the same AO every other week, you learn quickly. The other great point is if you were absent, the Quarter Q had to reach out and find a Q. That involved talking to a Pax the week before and getting them to “volunteer” to Q. It was a great way to get VQs as well. YCH enjoyed calling out Pax at the COT and saying hey will you Q next week. It is hard for a Pax to say no in the middle of the COT in front of the Boys. After hearing about C4 and Cricket taking over Wednesday’s at the Kodiak as a nod to the early days, YCH was inspired to go back old school for mondays. Dory was happy to partner up when I asked him in the COT a couple weeks ago and even signed us up on the Q Sheet for the Week. Site Qs if you are having trouble getting Qs on the Q sheet maybe its time to ask a couple of Pax in the COT to take a Quarter Q for the summer.
