Warm-o-rama

Mosey to Bells Ferry Rd with mix of High Knees, But Kickers, leg swings.

The Thang:

Head out on the trail.
Halt about 30 yards into the single track – partner carry back to the bridge crossing, alternating as needed. (Lunge if partner unavailable)

From there on it was a moderate pace out-&back in the direction of Field’s Landing, being mindful of foot placement after a lot of rain.

No falls, no busted ankles, lots of good mumblechatter.

COT

The High Impact Man has decided to turn Pro rather than remain an Amateur.

Before F3, I would have wrongly thought about this through the lens of perfectionism, which leads to controlling behaviors, only feeding insecurity and starving healthy connections and relationship. A huge liability to effective and virtuous leadership of myself, AND others.

The Q Source suggests that what defines the Pro is that he is PREPARED. Ready for the expected, while also expecting the unexpected.

This is the antidote for a recovering control freak such as YHC. And this is the foundation of contentment and grace in our dealings with others.

My prayer is that we will continue to prepare our bodies, our minds, our emotions, and resources so we can be Pros, and help one another accelerate our virtuous leadership.

I want to be the kind of dad that never succumbs to the temptation to control, when I could prepare and be ready to lead with contentment and grace.

The preparation for me is to train, just like training for a race, and that means a plan, a routine, and other men alongside me for the accountability and encouragement I anticipate I need along the way.

I’m honored to be on a leadership journey with the men of F3 Cherokee!

Always Be Accelerating!
