7 of my F3C brothers joined me this morning for a 45-minute bootcamp at the Clinic.  YHC has been working out here at varying frequencies for more than 2 years, but it remains my home base for bootcamp work, and it always comes with a fine and hard working quality of PAX.  Saluki and Foosball are keeping the culture of the Clinic as good as it has ever been, and I’m happy to have been able to EH myself and offer my 2nd Q there this month.

Foosball and Hard Hittin awoke to the EARLY alarm for some pre-run fun.  You have mastered Monday morning. It has nothing you cannot overcome, boys.
Stopwatch walked 2 miles to and from the AO.  The rest of us arrived in the conventional manner within 20 minutes of go-time.  0530 hit, and it was time for boot camp:

Warm-O-Rama:
Hold Plank while YHC gave some vague instructions and a preview for the morning’s activities, as well as an abbreviated version of the F3 disclaimer.  It later became evident that Foosball made a mental note at this point of my omission of the overplayed dad-joke about getting your money back at the end of the free workout if you weren’t satisfied.

The Thang:
Off we went with a 42-minute mosey that would be intentionally interrupted 20 times throughout the morning, getting us back to the shovel flag with a minute-and-a-half to spare.  YHC scouted out the route beforehand, not because of unfamiliarity, but because of concern for the PAX running it without a headlamp (which would be the unfamiliar angle).  No twisted ankles or nasty spills, so we’ll chalk it up as a viable bootcamp route.  The AO is as big as you want it to be, men!  Up Rope Mill Road we went, hitting pearls on a string at each tenth of a mile (or thereabouts) along the way, around Woodstock Elementary School and up the bus entrance, then back to the Park at City Center.  The pearls were a de-escalator from 10 burpees to 1 at each tenth for the first mile.  The second mile’s tenths (speaking loosely, as they actually added up to a mile and a half) treated us to 10 squats each, followed by an assortment of exercises including but not necessarily limited to merkins, BBS, and an escalator from 3 burpees up to 10.  Our last mosey took us from the amphitheater stage, up and down the amphitheater stairs, and back to the shovel flag for a minute thirty of AMRAP squats. Good thing we didn’t have 3 minutes left!

All in all, the stallions of the Clinic each ran more than 2.5 miles, knocked out 107 burpees, 160+ squats, a besmattering of merkins and BBS, and sweat several buckets full of perspiration.

Shout out to Lifeboat, Peekaboo, and Butterfly who have worn off their newness very quickly and made a good showing both in posting consistently and in absolutely crushing these workouts with grit and resolve.  Well done, sirs.

Always good to see my man Hard Hittin – praying for you often.  Stopwatch – I cannot say enough how much I respect and admire you.  Loved hearing about your granddaughter’s upcoming baptism and your upcoming road trip.

Men, I’m honored to lead you.  And as we prayed this morning, I urge you to make the very best use of the little time you’ve been given from above.  May you recognize every interaction with another human soul today as an opportunity to share grace and truth.  And may even your idle and alone time today be redeemed: characterized by a purity of heart and mind that has integrity with your public self.  Let’s be thankful for every breath and for the wonder of God’s presence.  I’m thankful fore each one of you posting this morning.  Let’s keep on getting stronger together in fitness, fellowship, and faith.
