YHC isn’t very creative, so when asked to Q an open slot for today, I jumped at the chance! However, what to do?
Started with a mosey, followed by the ubiquitous SSHs (after all, Legionnaire was in attendance), OYO Michael Phelps, Imperial Walkers, Weed Pickers and Windmills. We then crossed the street to go to the middle school bus lanes, where the official 2020 Labor Day board was waiting. It was a simple routine: compete one round of the listed exercises, take a lap around the bus lanes, and repeat. What we did:
London Bridges (10)
Alternating Leg Squats (10 each side)
Bear Crawl Merkins (10 each side)
Outlaws (10 each direction)
Russian Dips (20 total with a kick at the nadir)
Doggie Paddles (10 each side)
American Hammers (30 – Rubicon Count)
Yurpees (10 – burpee with a hand-clap merkin at the bottom; jump up and perform 2 squat jumps)
Take a lap and repeat
As usual, it seemed a wonderful beatdown at ideation, but it was a sweet challenge. The PAX crushed it, and there was little mumblechatter other than we discovered Banjo is a human and turning 40 in a few days. Doubtfire and Legionnaire represented well, and Gandhi just keeps getting healthier and stronger. Didn’t realize it until the end, but we had an, ahem, ‘experienced’ group today, with Banjo being ‘the kid’ amongst us.
Prayers lifted for Mary, wife of a friend of Gandhi’s who is facing some health challenges, and continued prayers for Legionnaire’s sister who is grateful for every day. Also the unspoken prayers and hardships many among us are facing. We turn it over to God.
