I thought last week I was safe to pack away the tights until the fall…  WRONG!!!  At least The Arena has the absolute gold-standard of bathroom situations and YHC got a warm up BM before the BD.  TMI?

The Thang:

1 mile Bataan Death March with Sandbag:  Indian run where the first guy in line carries a 40 lb sandbag and the last guy drops and does 5 burpees before sprinting to the front and taking the sandbag from the first guy.  Everyone really seemed to love the sequence of burpees then sprint then run with a sandbag.

After the death march mile, we continued running laps with two toll-gates (one at the beginning of each lap, one at the mid-point of each lap).  The east toll-gate cost 20 burpees to pass every lap.  The west toll-gate had an increasing toll with each lap:

• Lap 1 – 25 Bonnie Blairs
• Lap 2 – 30 Big Boys
• Lap 3 – 35 Merkins
• Lap 4 – 40 Squats
• Lap 5 – 45 Boxcutters
• Lap 6 – 50 Carolina Drydocks
• Lap 7+  50 Burpees

No one made it to Lap 7, but everyone got at least 3 miles in.

FYI – Apparently, the description for The Arena isn’t “Burpees and Miles” but something about “High Tempo”.  Oh well, everyone humored YHC by doing “high tempo burpees”.
