THE THANG
Ruck North on Main then and onto the train tracks into the woods where YHC selected a discarded railroad tie as our log coupon to be shared by the front 3 PAX in line, rotating out as needed. Our route was southbound on E Main, then E on Arnold mill, returning through the amphitheater entrance to get to the back lot and onto the wooded trail. Upon arriving at the bridge over the creek YHC communicated our next evolution: The log-o-motion.

The log-o-motion is accomplished by passing the log forward along the line with both feet planted on the ground, then rucking to the front of the line as soon as the log is out of one’s hands. No forward steps may take place while touching the log, and we must move only by log-0-motion until reaching Dobbs Rd. Spontaneous singing along the way didn’t make the log any lighter, but made for great entertainment.

Upon reaching Dobbs Rd the PAX could now ruck in normal movement and taking rotations with the log. We moved S along Main St stopping for another activity in front of the Dial home where there is a small ledge: Step ups in cadence with the log.

The PAX lined up facing the ledge, with the 4 leftmost pax holding the log and the single leftmost PAX calling cadence. Every 4 reps the log would move one pax to the right, and the PAX who had just called cadence would now ruck to the other end of the group. Rinse and repeat.

Soon we were out of time for fun and games, so YHC called for returning the log to it’s home in the woods, and a fast-shuffle to the Shovel Flag to finish.

COT
Prayers for E-tool’s workplace environment, his mother’s health, and praise for 30th wedding anniversary coming up. Prayers for Sanka’s health.

Naked-Man Moleskin
E-tool has quite the singing voice, we need to get him out to one of Chancellor’s Karaoke beatdowns. Slow-burn got all the mud from the log on his face and looked like a warrior right out of Braveheart. Great to have Ramblin’ Wreck back out in the gloom. Topics of Ruck-time discussion ranged from man-scaping to length of logs and lengths of men. Hass couldn’t get into his spikey ballet shoes fast enough after the ruck. Hopefully soon we can talk Sanka into bringing us some of that sweet Alma coffee for future Coffeeterias!
