The Real Thang: Chops 2.0 “Jarhead” is in the home stretch of the crucible, the capstone event of Marine Corps bootcamp, today: 48 miles, 54 hours, 45 lbs. of gear, 36 stations, 4-6 hours of sleep. Inspired by the numbers, we attempted 6 rounds of the following –

CouchFire, today’s resident gazelle, made it through 4 rounds (I think). Most of us mortal humans got in 2 or 3 rounds. Rembrandt was our sixth man today, and told us that he’d been working out on his own but that it’s definitely not the same. Glad to have him back. Prayers were said both spoken and those we held in the silence of our hearts. NOTE: Charmin arrived early and was practicing for his Thanksgiving magic show – it worked and he disappeared before the beatdown commenced. Hopefully he knows how to reverse that trick….
