A little cold never hurt anybody. Our first Murph City this season in the mid-30s was met with a spirited group of HIMs. Felt great out in the gloom this AM. We may or may not have moseyed for an extra bit to get the blood flowing then circled up:

Warm-o-Rama:

  • SSHs
  • Weed Pickers
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Sun Gods + Michael Phelps

The Thang:

On our way to the blacktop we grabbed coupons and partnered up. We did a take on the Dora 1-2-3 routine for our main event this AM. Partner worked while other ran to the sign 20 or so yards downrange then swapped. Cumulative count was kept between the partners.

We split it into two ‘half’s’ and did a bit of “halftime work” as well in between sets:

Dora Set 1: (w/ coupons)

  • 50 Overhead press
  • 100 Curls
  • 150 Bent over rows
  • rinse repeat all exercises x1

Halftime:

We then did a take on one of Trills favorites — the light pole routine.  (domt ask don’t tell ????)

Pax Super Mario to first light pole and do 10 copper head merkins as Pax step in to call cadence for the group.

Then all Pax Bernie Sanders to next light pole and do 20 Big Boy sit-ups as Pax step in to call cadence for group.

Total of 3 sets then mosey back to the start.

Dora Set 2:

  • 50 Merkins
  • 100 LBCs
  • 150 Squats (w/ coupons)
  • Started rinse repeat but only got through Merkins again

At this point we had about 4 mins left when Sooorie was emphatically mentioning he didn’t get any pull-ups today. I had a decision to make….quickly. So like the good Q that I am, I decided to call his bluff and made everyone run down to the playground to do a quick 1.5 min round of a pull-up buffet. All the pull-ups. To our hearts content. Then moseyed back to flag just in time.

COT:

As always at the Murph we honored our fallen soldiers in lieu of the 6.

Today we honored Army Staff Sgt. Jeremy E. Bessa

Died February 20, 2009 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom

26, of Woodridge, Ill.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Feb. 20, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when his military vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device followed by small arms fire attack by enemy forces.

Lots of prayers for family and personal health problems. Also for continued wisdom for specific situation for Saluki. We balled it up and prayed it out.
Great fellowship this AM. Warm coffee on a cool morning was much needed.
