We had a solid group of PAX at the Buff this morning. As Panhandle said when he pulled up, “this place really is creepy.” Kind of like keep Austin weird, I’m promoting we keep the Buff creepy.

Warmup: No nonsense this morning since we are not going to get stronger standing around, we picked up our kettlebells and moseyed down the hill behind the school. Shots were fired early by LawDog at our beloved previous Site Q, The Mole, saying this was the most PAX we’d had at the Buff in a while. Circled up for

SSH x 15
Weed Pickers x 10
Sun gods OYO

The Thang: We kept the heart rates up this morning with a combination of 11’s and circuit exercises. We started out with 11’s on the grass hill.

11’s with Swerkins at the top and Kettlebell swings at the bottom

Get Buff Circuit (10 reps each arm)

  • Clean, squat, press
  • Bent over rows
  • 1 leg dead lifts
  • Side lunges
  • American hammers

11’s with Deadlifts at the top and dips at the bottom. While running up and down the hill in the dark, Panhandle decided Mickey looked at him the wrong way and threw his shoulder into his face. Mickey got a split lip, but recovered and finished the workout like a boss.

Another round of Get Buff Circuit, but 5 reps per arm

Finished with everyone in a circle doing goblet squats and each PAX taking a turn doing 10 pull-ups.

Moseyed back to the flag.

COT: Prayers for Scamper and his family, Hombre’s continued recovery and his family, and Sallyride’s soldier who is looking for a place to rent in Woodstock.

Naked Man Moleskin: I was reluctant to take over as site Q at The Buff when The Mole first asked me, but F3 has given me so much that I wanted to give back. I think about guys like Cricket and Babyface who are always out in front of me or pushing more weight and they challenge me to get stronger and be there for the next guy. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting my first Q as site Q at The Buff. It was painful (especially for Mickey), but it was fun and we all left stronger.
