The BackBlast:
Intro:
After finishing the pre-run with Snap-On YHC was still not sure what the plan was for the beatdown, but then my memory served me well, and I pulled one from the early days of MorningWood, C4 style.
Warm-o-Rama:
Snap-On and YHC got 2.5 in on the pre-run but the rest of the slackers warmed up on their own time.
The Thang:
Mosey to the Grove and invoke the spirit of C4 (haven’t seen him at any workout for quite awhile!) to do some suicides up and down the Hedgewood Hill. Sprint to the first mailbox on the left, mosey back and wait for the 6. Sprint to the second mailbox on the left, mosey back and wait for the 6. So on and so forth until we hit the sixth mailbox at the top of the hill. Quick 10 count and then 2 laps running backward around the grove.
Instead of going over to the Enclave we went to Brightmoor and resumed our sprints. Definitely flatter, maybe even slight downhill for the sprints, but a little more distance between mailboxes. Went to 5.
Moseyed back to the flag with a short detour around the East Cherokee round a bout. With a few minutes left despite the PAX’s best efforts to run the clock out we got in a few more sprints before the clock hit 6:15. Top speed hit, 19.9 mph and a hard 3.94 miles not counting the pre-run!
COT:
Prayers for Frenchie, Sharapova’s M and Ellie’s family
Naked Man Moleskin:
Snap-On and I visited the hidden cemetery in WoodMont. Had no idea it was back there and we both opined as to whether or not those that bought the houses on either side were aware. We lost Snap-On around the 2nd or 3rd sprint up the Hedgewood Hill. I think I heard something like “screw you guys, I’m out” as he ran off. In actuality I thought I heard him say he was just going to modify and then when we couldn’t find him after the hill sprints we thought we had another The Mole situation on our hands. The PAX unanimously agreed we wouldn’t hear Snap-On whine and cry nearly as much as we heard from The Mole though. Turns out we were right! Walking 4 wide after the Ridgemoor sprints with shadows cast out in front it looked like a scene out of Tombstone to which someone remarked about the LawDog not coming round here. Yogi added some additional distance to the mosey back to the flag going over into the HoodMont side trying to run time out, but YHC was on to him and his schemes. Wouldn’t have wanted them to miss the cry of GO! in the gloom on more time!
