The BackBlast:
Intro:
This QIC loves GoRuck. So change of pace today for the Grove Shield Lock, the PAX brought along their rucksacks, targeting 40 lbs min weight. Wham-O arrived early, his truck parked outside waiting for the work to begin. Great to see him out again at a beatdown.
Warm-o-Rama:
Ruck down the Hedgewood Lane hill, about 0.35 miles. Drop the rucks, 10 imperial walkers, 10 good mornings, 10 weed pickers.
The Thang:
20 Ruck Thrusters
15 Ruck BBSU
10 burpees over Ruck
Three rounds, after each round grab your ruck and hike up the hill at Ridgemoor Trace and back.
The PAX rucks back up Hedgwood to Grove field, lining up. B-L-I-M-P-S with rucks on, 5/10/15/20/25/30 reps for each exercise, and after each run the length of the field and back.
6 minutes to go. Fireman Carry Rescue Sprints. Spread out along the Grove circus maximus, rucksacks over one should simulating fireman carry position, sprint the length of two mailboxes, drop the ruck, and then good pace mosey around the track, pick up the ruck again, sprint two mailboxes, drop, and so on. This QIC believes we got in about three laps and rucks sprints. Reading Sebastian Junger’s War last night gave this QIC and YHC the idea for this exercise. Great book for any interested on the Afghan war.
A little over 2 miles covered this morning.
COT:
Prayers for Misty’s niece, who may have contracted the COVID. Prayers for those kids who live in challenging homes even under normal circumstances.
Naked Man Moleskin:
This YHC must admit that waking up and posting right outside his front door with his shield lock crew is quite nice.
It’s been about a year since YHC has owned 2-pair of MACV-1 GoRuck boots, thinking of writing a full review.
