We started with a mosey around the 1/4 mile track until we circled up in the parking lot to start what I thought would be a nice few exercises t get us started.  That did not happen.  My given name is Callahan and in true “Tommy Callahan” fashion I screwed this up to an unrecognizable series of events that left everyone screaming at me and made me doubt that I would ever work out again.  I dont know how many of the these were performed as the count did not go as planned but we did some number of these:

Side Straddle Hops

Copperhead Merkins

Imperial Walkers

Weed Pickers

I quickly tried to transition into the next part of the Q which was the crazy 8’s:

We started with 7 burpees on top of the pavement and 1 squat to the bottom of the road and continued until we finished with 7 squats and 1 burpee.

Next we ran up to the pavilion and started the main workout called “the classic” to work the abs, arms, chest, arms and cardio.

Station 1: run 1/4 mile of the track

Station 2: 40 big boys

Station 3: 12 pull-ups

Station 4: 30 merkins

Every group was able to do at least 4 rounds of these stations and with 15 minutes left.

Next we played Speedball, keep in mind it has rained hard for the past 24 hours and just stopped raining at 0500 this morning.  It was a little wet.  Only 8 people fell and slid.  Tackleberry fell twice but kept coming back for more, I am not sure why.  Sega had the most impressive fall, but also the most impressive performance and was voted MVP of the team.

We left a trail of mud and grass on our way back to the pavilion to end with Dufresne as 6th man.  We are all wishing the best for him as his family as Dufresne and his wife are empty nesters and his sons are both doing well in school.

I am thankful for this group of men, rest up and look forward to seeing everyone next week.
