Intro: Another sad, sad day for the Saturday version of Hurt Locker, once again being outnumbered by the resurgent Boomers. YHC would not be dissuaded from continuing on despite mocking calls from B0.0Mtown for us to join them. As long as there is at least 1 other person that wants to do more than hang out behind the bathrooms for 45 minutes and get their full moneys worth for a full hour workout then I’m game.

Warmup: Oops, totally forgot about the warmup, but that’s ok because the 3 of us were there for the 5+ mile prerun, along with Subzero and Duggar as well. Suffice it to say we were plenty warm.

The Thang(s): Back to the track, down and around to our starting point at the bottom of the winding hill just below the tennis courts, where Rest Stop and White Claw kindly pointed out it would have been shorter to have gone the other direction. Why would we do that? The inspiration for this one came from White Claw discussing his hill running experience with YHC on Wednesday and also from 2 emails I got the day before where I was kindly notified that my online savings interest rate was once again going down at the same time my Netflix rate is going up. So, let’s do some hill repeats on the winding hill with increasing crunchy frogs at the top each time. Sprint to the top do 5 crunchy frogs and jog back down, increase by 5 each time at the top up to 30 reps.

Next, onto the tennis courts for suicides and big boi sit ups. From the fence to the back line and back, then to the mid line, net, far mid line, far back line and then the far fence for one full set of suicides. After each full set do big boi sit ups increasing by reps from 5 to 30.

Knock out a quick 4 corner escalator with 10 wheezy jeffersons, adding in 20 LBCs, 30 heel touches and 40 flutter kicks to the previous exercises at each subsequent corner.

With time still on the clock we started to head back to the flag, but while we’re passing by these benches lets do some Achin Legs. 20 squats, 20 box jumps, 20 lunges and 20 split jumps. Man, that hurt.

Stumble down to the tunnel of love that Holiday Lights of Hope set up (in record time as one PAX so proudly claimed on the Saturday of construction thanks to F3’s help). Snake our way in and out of the posts.

What?! Still not time to stop? Let’s do a quick lap around the circle knocking out 5 merkins at each tree on our left. That took us back to the flag for time to do 2 minutes of mary. White Claw called diamond merkins and Rest Stop closed us out with Dollies. And finally, we’re done, right on time!

COT: Prayers for Red Hat’s 2.0 and also for the upcoming holiday. One that will be very different for many people than any Thanksgiving prior to COVID. Be with those that are traveling and keep everyone safe as they enjoy their holidays and allow them to focus more on what they do have to be thankful for rather than focus on what they are missing out on this year.
