The Thang:

Set the timer for 1min work and 30sec rest and Set up five stations: 1) Farmer’s walk with 70lb kettle bells, 2) KB swing, choose the 35lb or the 53lb, 3) Lunges, 4)Battle Rope, 5) Over Shoulder with 50lb slam ball.

Next: Same Interval, 1min work and 30 sec rest.  Stations: 1)Shoulder taps, 2)Dancing Bear, 3)Wall sit, 4) Marry Poppins (It’s a sit-up. Lay on your back in a star formation, reach straight up, raising back of the ground as you reach for the sky. Once sitting upright with legs still straight out in front, cross arm over and touch toe on opposite leg, switch sides each rep.)

A few minutes left after loading the gear up = 30 burpees

COT:

Lots of tragedy around.  Lots of lives going home.  Prayed for healing in the lives of those who have lost recently.  Red Ryder has an important meeting scheduled for today.  We pray that God be the director of that meeting.

Naked Man Moleskin:

Foreplay did not happen.  YHC pulled up and Sweater Vest was out of the truck ready to go.  However, he was in the bus lane staying dry so YHC decided the time would be better utilized sitting in the Jeep drinking coffee and talking.  Snooker pulls up minutes later and jumps in for the conversation.  I wish I could say we discussed something deep, but we were not that awake.

YHC brought the tunes.  It was time to change it up from Depeche Mode and Tool.  Of course, Sweater Vest did not approve.  This being the best playlist creator thing has really gone to his head.  At one put he said the music made him want to trade Hello Kitty cards.  I think the music was just an excuse for him to bring up his collection.  Anyway, my mix is eclectic.  Once Zepplin, Foo Fighters, STP hit the rotation, the snarky comments dissipated.

The workout was well planned, or at least that’s what I thought.  I had set up 8 intervals on the timer, but there were 5 of us.  In order to hit each station twice… well, the math didn’t work.  To further confuse things, I’m pretty sure I went out of sequence on the second round, which messed up everybody.  This is good.  Workouts are more than just physical.  They are also a mental test.  Everyone should’ve been following someone in the workout.  I focused on the next station and not the person I was supposed to follow.  That being said, in order for me to be out of turn, someone else had to be off track also.  Just sayin’.

Magnolia was in rare form today.  With 30secs on the clock he would yell out “10 secs”.  Dude.  That’s just wrong.  I thought it was great!

Snooker wasn’t sure how to do a wall sit, so YHC helped him get his depth correct.  You’re welcome Snooker.

Red Ryder kept a low profile.  He’s good a flying under the radar.  Of course, I dare not call him out when we are on concrete.  Tackled in the grass is one thing, concrete is another.
