D-Day was the beginning of the end for Nazi Germany. It would take only until April 30, 1945, for the Allied troops to close in so tightly on Hitler that he ended his life. 156,000 troops took the DRP on 6/6/44. They didn’t go to war for themselves. They went for the man next to them. They went for their families and friends. They went for freedom. Countless men left their lives on those beaches. Dare we never forget that we get up and go to schools, jobs, and churches in a free country because of those men.
