King Pin Beatdown at Stockyard today began with a glorious downpour of moisture from the heavens and a quick warmarama of some side straddle hops, weed pickers and imperial walkers. As the rain continued and intensified, We then got right into the beat down. It consisted of x10 sandbag bear hug squats, x15 merkins, x10 each leg alternating lunges, x15 bent over rows, and a variation of the US Army’s combat fitness test event, “sprint drag carry”. With this variation, covering a 25 meter distance down and back, the PAX and I sprinted, backpedaled with our Sandbag, side stepped, carried our sandbag, and sprinted again. At completion of this last sprint, we rinsed and repeated 3 more times. Following that, it was a great idea to complete 8 rounds of sandbag shouldering to a 20 second work to 10 second rest tabata timer. With 15 minutes remaining , The beatdown concluded with some Mary of “5 minute abs” – LBCs, oblique crunches each side, dead bugs, and bicycles-30 seconds each for to rounds. 1 minute of hand release merkins, 1 minute of big boys, bear crawls for a distance and crawl bears back, and finally an excercise we called the “Picanha Salsa”. We had some great mumblechatter throughout and really embraced the conditions and pushed each other.
