The BackBlast:
Intro:
For relay races we need 8 PAX. Perfect. Whoops here comes #9. That leaves YHC to “coach”. Where’s my WHISTLE?!!
Warm-o-Rama:
0530 Let’s Mosey! Around the parking lot to the corner by the tennis courts, in time for…
- 20 SSH, with increasing speed
- 12 Imperial Walkers
- 12 Windmills
- Sun Gods & Michael Phelps
Mosey on down the stairs behind the school to the bus lanes.
The Thang:
Thang #1: Take a lap!
Nothing fancy here. Just 1 lap, all you got. Down, clockwise around the bus turn cul-de-sac and back. Turns out that was just over 1/4 mile.
Thang #2: Kodiak Relays
Based on results from Thang 1, divide into 2 teams. Recruited as follows:
- Team #1 = Finishers #1, 4, 5, 8
- Team #2 = Finishers #2, 3, 6, 7
Kinda like Dora, with exercises for arms, abs, legs, and run, except performed as a relay team. With 2 4-man teams, YHC chose to stick with the anchor man from either relay team.
- Pax 1: Run a lap, about 200-250 yards
- Pax 2: 50 Merkins
- Pax 3: 50 BBSU
- Pax 4: 50 Squats
Rinse & Repeat for Round #2, with the losing team getting a ~10-ish yard head start.
- Pax 1: Run a lap, about 200-250 yards
- Pax 2: 50 Derkins
- Pax 3: 50 LBC’s
- Pax 4: 35 Switch-Lunges
Rinse & Repeat for Round #3, this time a sprint down the covered sidewalk and back.
- Pax 1: Sprint down & back, about 150 yards
- Pax 2: 25 Curb Dips
- Pax 3: 25 Flutter Kicks (Kodiak)
- Pax 4: 25 Monkey Humpers
Thang #3: Ascending Bear Crawls
- We picked a spot on the road behind the school, between 2 curbs
- Bear Crawl across the road to the other curb, turn around, 1 Derkin
- Bear Crawl back, 2 Derkins
- And so on, up to 10 Derkins
Thang #4: Webbicides
Mosey back up to the parking lot near the flag. Similar idea as Jack Webbs, but with Suicides…
- Start from parking space #0
- Run to space #1, 1 Merkin, run back
- Run to space #2, 2 Merkins, run back
- …
- Space #10, 10 Merkins, run back (kind of a slow mosey for YHC at this point)
At this point, we were spent. Thank the great SkyQ for only 1 minute left for Mary. T-Bombs & Crunchy Frogs.
COT:
Announcements: Man camp coming up quick in mid-March. See Dory for more info. The Geppetto Family 5K was moved to March 7, get signed up!
Prayers for Cricket and his M, Evie, their little guy (1-year-old) keeping them up at night, pray for rest for mama. For Floppy’s dad, Doug, 78 years young, lots of issues with cuts and bruises. And please continue to pray for Ellie’s family, the Pruitts.
Naked Man Moleskin:
- Hombre, he’s like an old classic muscle car, takes awhile to warm up, but once he does he is sneaky fast. Or… he is an expert sandbagger.
- Homeboy = washed up. You had a good couple years.
- Cricket, I could be imagining things but I think I saw him huffing & puffing a bit. Can’t be. Must be the sleep or lack thereof.
- Kiff, went all out like YHC asked, but then was spent after the initial lap. Astue observations this morning of Homeboy’s continued injuries, Hombre’s sandbagging.
- YHC with the 12-1/2 minute explanation for the relay race. Somehow we still got everything in.
- M2M made it “near” the Kodiak, never really found the parking lot.
- GoDaddy, sneaky fast, a solid add for the trail beatdowns, need to get you out there!
- Miyagi’s amazing coffee took a back seat to M2M’s guest brew. Kidding I had some of both. Good stuff!
- Doubtfire, I think I almost broke him. I’m going to make him Merlot. It’s going to happen.
