YHC was tapped to Q this beatdown the day prior. The regularly scheduled Q had to back out due to mammon commitments, and Icy Hot offered the opportunity. I accepted.
I’ve been digging the 11s concept lately, but because I’m me a simple 11s routine just isn’t enough.
Warmarama- Frankly this happened a few days ago. I’m late with this BB. We ran up and down the stairs a few times and circled up. I gave my standard disclaimer (You might die, but if you do you get a full refund). Then, I’m sure there was some SSH and picking of weeds but who knows what else we did.
The THANG- 11s with some extras. The 11s exercises were Burpees and Never Surrenders. But in order to perform the 11s exercises the PAX had to earn the right to do them by performing 20 Little Baby Flutter Kicks. The Burpees were to be performed in front of the stage, and the Never Surrenders were to be performed up top facing the flag at the war memorial. The method of travel was to bear crawl accross the field and run up the stairs to the war memorial, and to run back down the stairs and crab walk back across the field to the stage.
So, the first round looked like this: 20 LBFKs, 10 Burpees, bear crawl across field, run up stairs and over to memorial, 20 LBFKs, 1 Never Surrender, run back across and down the stairs, crab walk to stage, and start all over in 11s fashion with the 20 LBFKs buy-in before each Burpee/Never Surrender set.
It was tough. The gazelles of the PAX, Saluki and Clickbait nade the most progress. YHC made it to 5 Burpees and 6 Never Surrenders before we ran out of time. But it was a great workout nonetheless.
We did a plank ring of fire variant to finish up and moseyed back to the flag for CoT and the naming of the FNG.
It was good to be out in the gloom leading my brothers, even if it was a last minute Q!
