Trailmix VQ’d on a gloomy and chilly Monday. Not nearly as much mumblechatter as expected — either a tough BD or because GutCheck was out. Foosball and Catalina lapped in from an early pre-run just in time for the “mixed bag” beatdown. Foosball took a casualty going to the Quarry, and Barbosa laughed and encouraged as we passed him rucking around the amphitheater.

Warm-up: Moseyed up to the gazebo lawn and limbered up with Sidestraddle Hops, Weed Pickers, Grady Corns, and Imperial Walkers.

The BD: Back at the amphitheater, two stations were called out: top of stairs, bottom of stairs. PAX drew a card to get both exercises — ran up, station 1, run down, station 2. 21 reps at each station. For the ambitious, counting reps on the bottom didn’t start until the six began. One surprise card sent us on a long mosey to the Quarry for double dips.

The mixed bag had: dips, LBC’s, merkins, blades of steel, alternating leg squats, no surrenders, pickle pointers, catalina wine mixers, imperial storm kickers, austrailian snow angels, and more.

COT: Sixth man Surf-n-turf with his M and 2.0’s, One-Scoop’s sister, Hombre & Co recovery, and several other PAX and families dealing with sickness and healing.

Moleskin: Had a really great time on my first Q. Really encouraged and grateful for all the support to lead, and for the willingness of PAX to try something new. (Let’s keep Grady Corn’s in the warm-up rotation, okay?) E-tool always brings the energy and stoke, really admire that in the early morning.

There’s a lot of crazy crap happening in the last months and past week. It speaks volumes to be able to come spend an hour in the morning with guys who can unite around three universal F’s and find common ground in getting beat down together and building each other back up.
