The Thang:
Part 1 – High Dive
– Sprint 100 Yards, 20 merkins at the far end zone
– Bunny Hop Burpee back to the start
High Dive called for a “Switzer” (a half circle close to the Q so all can easily hear him) and shared some points about fitness: That Fatigue makes cowards of us all, and a man needs to accelerate his King to avoid falling victim to the flux that would cause deceleration. The HIM accelerates his King in order to be fit to lead – and have the endurance to lead well.

Part 2 – Exile
Bear Crawls, Merkins, Squats, and some sprints sprinkled in. Focused on Form.
The HIM influences people with what he says and the way he says it. The HIM influences others with what he does and the way he does it. A group that can stay in sync during a workout can work together to conquer obstacles.

Part 3- Gut Check
How-to-Count
BailBond is called in to the middle and instructed to lead the group in 10 SSH. The first attempt is less than stellar, but the group then gave feedback on what went well, and what could improve. Immediately the PAX was able to apply feedback with another 10SSH and show improvement right away. Gut Check shared instruction on leaving no man behind, that this includes helping another man improve by sharing with him how he can do better and holding one another accountable. We do this through After Action Reviews.
Candor is essential to help one another accelerate. Courage and humility is essential to lead and continually accelerate as a HIM.

Part 4 – Exile
Merkins and sprints again to keep the blood pumping. (Can’t have Maaco falling asleep in class)
Bail Bond is called to the middle, as well as Mr. Holland. Bail Bond privately instructs and coaches Mr Holland on leading SSH’s: What to say, how to say it. The group participated in another After Action Review for Mr Holland, and Bail Bond supported with further guidance.

We don’t need to wait til we have everything figured out to help another man start leading, or accelerate leading! To try and do so would be like a bullfrog who wants to get comfy on his lilly pad and direct everything from there. Lead while you are in the arena. Help other men start and accelerating while you are in the arena! 43 feet ahead is plenty.
