The BackBlast:

Intro:

Well, it’s President’s Day, so why not ‘roll the dice’ as it were and get what you get!

Warm-o-Rama:

After a brief mosey around the parking lot to ‘Hail to the Chief’ blasting on the JBL speaker, we started with 10 Imperial Walkers, MIchael Phelps and Sun Gods OYO and finished with 20 SSH.

The Thang:

Being the recipient of three 10-sided structures for Valentine’s Day (my M is a rock star!), YHC thought it would be great to incorporate them into today’s beatdown, as recently it seems like choosing a President is as predictable as rolling dice.   You get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit.

Each die had exercises and quantities on them, so we lined up in front of the school and each person rolled the dice.  Whatever it landed on is what that individual PAX did.   20-burpees?  Sure.   15 jump squats, no problem, and on and on and on.   It was a nice mix of upper and lower body work.  PAX performed one set at the start, ran to the next light pole, did it again and then ran to the last light pole and returned to the line to repeat the roll and the pattern.

With about 12 minutes left, we regrouped, with each PAX rolling a die, and as a group we moved from beginning to end, stopping at each light pole and performing the exercise in order of the roll (each light pole was one exercise).   We nearly completed two rounds of those before the fun-timer was running low.  Returned to the flag just on time.

COT:

We heard from Bloomers about Promise Ring’s amazing efforts in school as well as his younger son’s wrestling accomplishments.   Doubtfire updated us on his daughter’s sporting progress as she is moving on from gymnastics to track/field.  Woody shared his upcoming annual fundraiser for Love not Lost.   Check it out and schedule some time for this wonderful event.  Fortunately, there were no pressing prayer requests this morning, but we all know that we struggle every day.   Don’t forget to reach out to your fellow PAX and also to remember to look UP for constant strength and guidance from our Father.

Naked Man Moleskin:

YHC was very excited to use the new exercise dice, and was not disappointed in the performance from the assembled PAX.    Doubtfire did his usual ‘show up and work’ effort.  Always a pleasure!   Bloomers never ceases to amaze in his steadfast performance.   We all know he’s physically strong, but when you watch him put in the work, you realize he’s got a heart that keeps pushing and pushing him forward.   Aquaman honored us with a post and it was awesome, as always, to listen to him gently taunt and encourage us all.   Woody is just a machine.  I don’t think he ever gets tired.   Ever.
