The BackBlast:

Intro:

YHC has been feeling the 1990’s lately – probably because my 20-year college reunion is this year (yikes). So I continued my string of 90’s-themed workouts.

Warm-o-Rama:

Short mosey. SSH’s; Imperial Walkers; Weed Pickers; Sun Gods OYO; Phelps OYO; Copperhead Merkins; Air Squats

The Thang:

Chumbaburpees. Hold warm-o-rama circle. Play Tubthumper by Chumbawumba. SSH throughout song and do one burpee every time singer says “I get knocked down.” 27 burpees total. Mumblechatter reduced significantly.

PB’s 90 seconds and 90 yards. Perform exercise for 90 seconds at one end of FMS bus lanes. Line up, and on Q’s call, sprint 45 yards out and back. Exercises were:

Mtn Climbers

WW2 Sit-ups

Squats

Plank

Dips/Derkin Combo (Lucky Charms tried to cheat)

Flutter kicks

Air Press

J-Lo

Star Jumps

Bruce Lee. With 6 minutes left we reformed circle and performed Bruce Lee. 10 merkins on Q’s count immediately followed by core exercise, immediately rinse and repeat and continue to bell. Performed 5 or 6 rounds (this has nothing to do with 90’s – just needed to squeeze the last bit of energy out of everyone)

COT:

Tater Hole visited us from NC. He gave us some background on himself, and when asked what his best marriage tip is (he’s been married 36 years), he said “honesty.”

Prayers for protection from Corona. Prayers for Sharapova’s M, Dr. Thunder’s M, and Tater Hole’s nephew. Thanks to Sky Q for morning, able bodies, and camaraderie.

Naked Man Moleskin:

Pitchfork is fast. But not as fast as YHC (plus, he’s half my age).

Blackhawk brought it this morning – pushing YHC to almost vomit during last portions of the 90/90 routine.

Rugburn’s air press form is questionable at best, kind of like Hartford’s air squats. But, boy can he move for a big man!

YHC noticed Lucky Charms getting some extra steps in front of the line on the sprints. Tisk tisk.

There were few participants in YHC’s dress-up-like-the-90’s request. Can’t blame Pitchfork for not wearing his baby clothes. Ice T brought it as usual and Rug Burn at least wore a “Bay Side High” t-shirt. And major props to Mall Cop for the choice 90’s windbreaker and to Hartford for his zubas. YHC is disappointed that Fleetwood forgot his fanny pack.

Was great to see my man Chops back at the Den. Keep it up man!

Flatline is crushing it. His improvement over the last few months is amazing!
