Circles, Circles, Circles was the name of the game today at The Catbox. The PAX enjoyed nine circles of fun (pain) to be exact. YHC, the Q, wanted to raise the intensity today and the PAX brought it 110%!
Circle one involved the traditional “Mosey” around the cat field…two laps was in order.
Circle two was Warm O’ Rama time including “do it yourself” Sungods and Phelps, Frankensteins (or Mummies), Merkins and a sit in to a deep squat where many moans and groans were presented as notes of approval. Q added in Side-Straddle-Hops because PAX have an addiction to them and Weedpickers.
Circle thee was where the real fun began: Bataan Death March with Burpees was this circle for the PAX. Q split the line in two once he realized there was too much mosey’n and not enough hard work.
Circle four was an interesting little diddy: PAX got in a circle and performed coupon squats in sync with the song “Sally Up, Sally Down” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51_2XMbwxqo). This one was all about tuning out the pain game. Q suggested finding one’s “pain cave”…the PAX who wondered what that meant may now have a better understanding after completing this circle.
Circles five through eight were a variation on a Tabata routine with some modifications made in order to conserve time for Circle nine. Three tabata’s were performed: Coupon Swings, Hollow Rocks and Coupon Push-Presses. PAX did an awesome job of giving max effort in each tabata.
Finally, circle nine, DEATH BY BURPEES. This one pushed every PAX to his limit and was a perfect way to end the BD. Every minute on the minute PAX performed burpees starting with five the first minute. Every subsequent minute the burpee count was increased by one…except for minute two when the Q decided the PAX were awesome so the count was increased by two. PAX who failed to make the count of burpees in the current minute switched to Merkins until the last HIM was standing. It was PieBar who won the day by completing sets of 5,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 16 burpees. Congrats to PieBar…that was quite a showing!
The morning wrapped up with a super-speedy clean up, the circle of trust, 6th man, the introduction of two new FNGs (welcome! Backdraft and Cargo), an offering of prayer (thanks God!) and coffeeteria.
Great work Men!
