The Rucking Witches (Ruck BD at Wicked Witch/Birmingham Park AO) launched on May 3rd and we had 12 ruckers join us. We’ve had a pretty consistent crew since then, so we decided to make it official and add a tab to the Q Sheet. We plan to continue to join #bd-wicked-witch for the COT and stay on their slack channel as long as they let us. We’re working with Cricket on getting us our own BD on the website and for BackBlasts so we can make @LawDog happy.

All that being said, we had 6 ruckers show up in the gloom this morning at the Witch! Regulars @Hombre, @Breezy, @TidePods, @Auntie-Em, and YHC were there, and @E-Tool came out for his first time!

The Thang! (Part 1)

We rucked down White to the Barn, picked up some (ant free) logs, and carried those to the trailhead of Green & Blue. @Hombre showed us all up by doing the log carry while also holding a leash. We circled up, did 10 thrusters with the log, dropped the logs, then rucked the green/blue loop and took @E-Tool on his maiden voyage up Big Blue. We all agreed @E-Tool’s massive calves gave him an unfair advantage. Back to the trailhead we got on our six and did 20 Flutter Kicks with the log overhead. Picked the logs back up and headed back to the barn for The Thang (Part 2).

The Thang! (Part 2)

The PAX gathered in the barn for instructions and were told that we’d be knocking out 1000 reps of pain together. 3 PAX would stay in the barn knocking out the reps together (about 33 each for each exercise), while the other three carried a log to the tree line and back, then they would switch. YHC tried to find logs that were big enough to do partner carries in his recon last night, but @E-Tool didn’t want to be that close to any of us, so we all carried our own (with @E-Tool taking the biggest log of course). @Breezy, @TidePods, & @Auntie-Em were a group and @E-Tool, @Hombre, and YHC were a group.

The 1000 reps were all with the Ruck and as follows:

  • 100 Merkins
  • 100 Squats
  • 100 Big Boys
  • 100 Overhead Press
  • 100 Deadlifts
  • 100 American Hammers
  • 100 Ruck Swings
  • 100 Lunges
  • 100 Plank Pull Throughs
  • 100 High Pulls

All PAX did their part, and we got through all 1000 reps! We stacked the logs up in one of the closets at the barn to keep them dry for future use and headed back to the flag just in time to join the Wicked Witch runners for the COT. @E-Tool and @TidePods even joined them for some burpees.

COT

Had 19 PAX total between runners and ruckers. Came together for the COT at the end, and it was a thing of beauty showing the unity of F3 Cherokee between men of all shapes and sizes (@Z93).
