In rememberance of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, what’s a better way to pay RESPECT to them by completing a WOD in their honor. Since this is special Dropbox Birthday Q, I decided to honor one Green Beret who’s slogan was “I will never run from a gunfight.”

The Will – Battle Buddy Hero WOD was written in honor of SFC Will Lindsay of the 10th Special Forces Group (A) who was killed in action on March 22, 2019 in Afghanistan. The workout consists of four movements, one for each of his daughters that he left behind, followed by a one mile ruck with a sandbag in honor of his wife, Sarah. There are 10 repetitions of each movement, which represents the 10th Special Forces group.

To make this WOD suck more, I incorporated sandbags between 20 to 80#’s to carry to each of the 4 separate exercise stations. After the warmup of Michael Phelps, sun gods, and some squats, we grabbed the sandbags and headed over to the front of the stage. Each corner of the Amphitheater green was a station. We started the first movement of ruck on squats. I had mentioned sandbag murder bunnies between stations, but had changed them to sandbag carries or throws. At each station we dropped the sandbags and completed Ruck Russian Twists, then Ruck on Merkins, and finally Ruck/ Sandbag high pulls. Each Pax swapped out sandbags as needed so that each of got to experience the suck a bit more. After we had completed the 10 rounds around the Amphitheater green, we hit that mile sanbag ruck to fulfill honoring his wife Sarah. After picking up the six, we dropped all sandbags off we headed out for a cool down ruck.

Ending in the COT, we prayed for all refugees, military personnel currently in Afghanistan as well as those currently affected by COVID. Our toast was coffeteria always provided by Mouth-to-mouth.

It was an honor to represent such a great warrior! Lets never forget they paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country!
