This beat-down was designed to make us harder, better, faster and stronger, and it did that.
First off, Kudos to the pre-runners: The Count, Couch Potato and Paper Jam.
CoT with warm-ups, like SSH, weedpickers, flutters, squats, etc. Mosey.
HARDER>>>>>
Jacob’s Ladder up and down the west jill with your choice of 25- to 50-pound plates and dumbbells. That’s 26 burpies and a bunch of hill sprints. Plank until the 6.
BETTER>>>>>>
PTFS. Plank to Fail. Hold it until you can’t, then do SSHs until all drop. Physically, I wanted to stop right away, but mentally I know I could hold out longer… It was a mental game that is designed to make us reach our potential. I think The Count, who was the last to “fail” actually just got bored of planking. Regardless…
FASTER>>>>>>>
Sprint 100 yards, SPRINT!!! Yes, that’s better. And the recover, and trot back. Rinse and repeat 3X. No one splashed merlot, although I know the Q got close with some weird-sounding, and strange-tasting burps.
STRONGER>>>>>
Back to the plates and dumbells, we partnered up. One guy did merks and the other curled as much weight as he could until fail. Then flapjack.
To the flag for 5 minutes of Mary.
CoT: CP gave us a catch-up on his world, and encouragement to do our best every day.
We prayed for Count’s wife, PJ for shrinkage, for CP’s in laws and for gratitude that we can do this and that there are others who would love to do this but cannot because of a lack of motivation, depression or injury. We prayed for them, too.
Dang, Hustler’s coffee is good! What did he say, a blend of Starbuck’s Veranda (did you notice the hint of chocolate and citrus?) and Folgers. Deee-lich.
CP, PJ and Hustler jawed for another hour about life, hunting and guns. Man, I love F3!
